Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Expensi application for iPhone and iPad (the "App") provided by "Planning Technologies" LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Relationship with Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. If these Terms conflict with Apple's terms regarding your rights as an App Store customer, Apple's terms prevail.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store usage rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or distribute the App, except as permitted by law.

4. Who can use the App

You may use the App if you are at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use the App only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

5. Your data and your responsibility

• Your expenses, amounts, categories, currencies, notes and attachments are stored only on your device. We do not have access to them and cannot recover them.
• You are responsible for keeping your device, device passcode, App lock and backup files secure. Creating a backup is available in the free version; restoring data from a backup requires PRO. Backup files are created and stored by you, and you decide where to keep them. Backups contain your financial records, so we recommend protecting them with a password and storing them in a safe place.
• You are responsible for making regular backups. Deleting the App, resetting or losing your device may permanently delete your data.
• Reminders are delivered by your device's notification system. We do not guarantee that every reminder will be delivered on time, for example if notifications are turned off or the device is switched off.

6. Not financial advice

• The App is a personal tool for recording and organizing your own expenses. The App does not connect to your bank and does not make payments, transfers or currency exchanges.
• Exchange rates are provided by a third-party service, may be delayed and may differ from the rates of banks and payment services. Conversion results and reports are not financial, investment or tax advice.

7. Free version and PRO

The App can be used for free with up to 10 expense categories and no limit on the number of transactions.

PRO removes this limit and unlocks additional features, such as unlimited categories, attachments, app lock and restoring data from a backup. PRO is available as:

• a monthly subscription;
• an annual subscription;
• a one-time lifetime purchase.

Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by country. All purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive or store your payment card details. "Lifetime" means for as long as the App is available and supported for your device and Apple Account.

8. Subscriptions

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• If you cancel, you keep access to PRO until the end of the current paid period.
• We may change subscription prices. Apple will notify you in advance, and where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.

9. Free trial

A free trial may be offered for subscriptions. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial, the subscription starts automatically and you are charged. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

10. Refunds

Refunds for purchases are handled by Apple under its refund policies. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws.

11. Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the App or use a new device with the same Apple Account, you can restore your PRO purchase using the "Restore Purchases" option in the App.

12. Changes to the App

We may update, change or discontinue features of the App at any time. We will try to keep paid features available for the period you paid for.

13. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of data loss. No method of storing data on a device is completely secure.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the App, including financial losses or loss of data caused by a lost or damaged device or deleted backups, or decisions made based on reports or exchange rates in the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or 100 USD if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your right to use the App if you seriously breach these Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. If you are a consumer in the European Union or another country with mandatory consumer protection laws, you keep the protection of those laws. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you in the App or in the App Store listing. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
